The Devastator is an (almost unkillable) artificially engineered enemy that I designed for Affray Studio's debut game, Pandemic. Based on SCP 5000, the game is a hardcore cooperative first-person tactical horror shooter releasing on PC, MacOS, and Linux.
I based the design on Ivo Francisco (bathroomtile)'s Infector and my own Resonator, keeping the pale skin, dead eyes and spidery growths consistent, but equipping the beast with an armoured coating of bone. It had to be a big hulking creature no taller than 3.5m, so I combined the muscular-skeletal structure from animals that naturally have strength and beef; specifically, bears and rhinos. I imagine it would’ve been spliced together as a predatory bio-weapon, so the head and tail resemble different species of shark. To give it a scarier edge, the appendages that extend over the head reference black-house spiders (I picture it protecting its face with these, making it much harder to kill).
If you're gonna mess with genetics, why not go ham with it?
